Couples Therapy
Most relationships become strained at some point, resulting in less than optimal functioning. Changes in situations such as financial state, physical health, the influence of other family members, and even just the passage of time can have a profound influence on the conduct, responses and actions of the individuals in a relationship. In Couples Therapy, how one looks at and responds to problems can be explored collaboratively and discussed openly. Conscious, structural changes can be implemented, as the couple works together to implement behaviors that support the well being of their relationship and eliminate those that are harmful or that are no longer useful. Couples are then taught how to evaluate the effectiveness of these changes over time as they develop a stronger capacity to adapt to new circumstances throughout their lifetimes.
